The Vintage Revival day and Delphi Strut Dance were a great success, the weather was perfect, hundreds of people turned up to browse the vintage stalls, drool over the American and vintage cars look at the displays of war time military vehicles and listen to fabulous music played by Chocks Away for Dancing and Sarah Mai our brilliant event singer. Plus the Friendship dancers in their traditional East European costumes really added to a brilliant day of enjoyment. Rosie Lee’s tea room did a roaring trade, the cakes were just perfect.
The displays of memorabilia of the 486 bomb group, the RAF, Women’s Land Army and sounds of the past, also the British Legion and display of Wormingford aerodrome attracted a lot of attention.
The Sudbury Mayor Robert Spivey was impressed with The Centre and the activities that go on there on a regular basis.
We raised £1302 for our Heart Charity “UPBEAT” and £893 for the Delphi refurbishment fund which was a brilliant result.
Also great to report the medical first aider had a quiet day with no customers!

Cars coming on the day include some fabulous American Cadillac's, Chevrolet & Dodge and some great examples of both pre-war and post war Vintage cars, some owners dressed in period.

This is a new event and will be staged on the Sports Field of The Delphi Centre Sudbury.
To raise funds for The Delphi Centre and Upbeat the Heart Support Charity.
The event will be from 10:00am to 5:00pm with vintage cars on display pre-1960 and vintage military vehicles. An arena for demonstrations with the local historic society in 1940's attire. A chance to dress up in clothes of the period and enjoy a day of nostalgia .
As it is the 75th anniversary of the 486 Bomb Group who were stationed at Acton near Sudbury we have invited Vintage American cars to attend; and 20 Military Vehicles will be on display.

To celebrate the 486 Bomb Group a display in the Marquee will have memorabilia from the 8th Army and 486 Bomb Group supplied by Mike Warner from Bury St Edmunds.
Roger Lane local Artist will be exhibiting his amazing pictures of the 486 Aircraft.
Live Music, swing dancing in the 1940's style.
For younger children there will be a Fairground rides and Amusements supplied by Malloy's Amusements of Safron Walden, also a creative craft stall from "The Crafty Pair"
Vintage motor cycles will be attending.
The Sudbury British Legion will have a stall with memorabilia and items from Wormingford Airbase
"UPBEAT " Heart Charity will have a Tombola stall to promote the Charity.
The Women's Land Army WLA will have a display.
The Sudbury Ephemera Society will also attend
The Friendship Dancers will give a display of East European Dancing.

An evening 1940's Dance in the Delphi Centre ballroom from 7:00 to 11:30pm. The Glenn Hurst band will be playing all your favourite 1940's music with vocalist Liz Frances they will all be attired in military uniform making for a great atmosphere. check out their web site www.glennhurstmusic.net This will be a great evening to finish our 1940's Revival Day.
